"Materials Science-Poland" ISSN 2083-1331, e-ISSN 2083-134X (est. 1974 as "Materials Science", ISSN 0137-1339) is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental or theoretical research into the synthesis, preparation, characterization or application of advanced modern materials. A broad range of topics having future significance is covered, and includes, for example, more efficient synthesis methods or more accurate data modeling. Particular interest is placed on materials of relevance to microelectronics, photonics and micromachining.

In addition to regular papers, the journal issues includes also conference papers. Our core readers are scientists and experts who are interested and engaged in the interdisciplinary nature of materials research. The journal's target readers are also the people from the industry like e.g. the ones who are involved in inventing new technologies for microelectronics, photonics, and micromachining, and creating totally new materials and techniques of the future. Our mission is to present and promote the newest and the most exciting achievements of the high technology thought of the greatest specialists and the rising stars in these areas of interests, as well.

We tend to meet and exceed our readers' expectations by providing the most innovative, practical and understandable solutions for the problems they may encounter in their materials research, both of theoretical and practical nature.
We provide a cooperative learning environment for our readers and authors to thrive in. We try to meet their personal and professional needs and provide them with the opportunity to share in the success of the whole world scientific community, as we all share in their success. We promote their innovation and their contribution to the modern materials science. Our scope is focused on novel and unconventional materials for these rapidly developing branches of the science and technical world. We would like to be seen as an up-to-date and high-tech journal attractive enough to be read by the scientists and the experts in these fields all over the world. We do always endeavor to safeguard the high standards of our journal: that is why we try to find only the best worldwide leading scientists to cooperate with, both as our authors and as our reviewers.

All submitted papers should describe original or innovatory research, optimally indicating their potential applications (survey studies are also accepted). The Journal particularly welcomes submissions that focus on the progress in the field of nanocomposites, thin-films, sol-gel materials, metal-ceramic compounds, electron and ion transport, and magnetic properties in new alloys. Papers which describe the functional features and limitations governing novel materials are also of increasing interest to this Journal and its readers. The Journal has a strong tradition of publishing papers written by high-caliber, professional scientists who are not native English speakers (but who must necessarily have at least a reasonable command of English).

Submission of a manuscript to "Materials Science-Poland" implies that it has not been and is not being considered for the publication elsewhere, and the authors have a necessary authorization to publish the material contained in the paper.

The Journal expects all authors to uphold the highest standards of scientific honesty. In particular, all forms of plagiarism are unacceptable: if necessary the Journal will employ all available legal resources to protect the rights of its authors and defend its academic integrity.

"Materials Science-Poland" is published by Wrocław University of Technology with the scientific support of the Centre for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology.
